about

While sitting upstairs at the Park Bar with several Detroit musicians, we came up with an idea to have everybody write a song based on one random word. Chad ran downstairs, and got a word from the bartender: "table"

As far as we know, Alison is the only one to make good on the dare. This song was written shortly after the disaster in Haiti, but could really apply to any disaster in the world, even Hurricane Millie.

lyrics

A hundred degrees on the inside
the roof is caving in
another wave is coming
you haven't got the strength to swim
That's why I feel Lucky
fire for light
That's why I feel Lucky
to sleep through the night
That's why I feel Lucky
Table for food
That's why I feel Lucky
not searchin' for you...
There's no water and there's no shelter
and your daughter, she didn't come home
there's no relief for your sorrow
you're just hanging on, holding on for hope
you keep hanging on, holding on for hope
you're just hanging on, holding on for hope
you keep hanging on, holding on for hope
you're just hanging on, holding on for hope
you keep hanging on, holding on for hope
you're just hanging on, holding on for hope
you keep hanging on, holding on for hope
That's why I feel Lucky
fire for light
That's why I feel Lucky
to sleep through the night
That's why I feel Lucky
Table for food
That's why I feel Lucky
not searchin' for you...
