Home 02:52
The weeds are growing through the screen on the back porch the yard is full of land mines broken bottles, buried bones and empty holes The dust is rising up to meet us fans are circulating breath and signals crossed to recreate a language we misunderstood I reconsider you while I rest drowning in the brightest blue We build it up and take away The patterns pounded into shapes that look like you but melt away The moths are swarming towards a place that's warm I think I'd do the same except for darkness and forgivness Broken bones and heavy weather Things we do while under pressure all the time that fills this space If you were here would I even recognize your face Addictions and distractions are all the same when you wake up in the morning just to find that I have not come home...

Blanket 03:44
I was sittin' alone and sober just tryin' to figure out How I got where I am and you got where you are we made it this far without having to answer the questions we kick along as we walk without speaking the unspoken words that silent way that we talk I was looking around at the scenery Kinda want to throw it all away Start with an empty room just me and you figure out what's really at stake We live so far away from the ocean this city is noisy and cold we've go baby's to name and if it's all the same I would really like to raise her on the road I would really like to raise her on the road But if anything ever happened Like, if something really went down I would want to be lyin' next to you on a blanket on the ground with the creatures all around us at our heads and at our feet listen to the rain fall down the wind talkin' through the trees... Do you remember that time in Texas we stopped to rest for the night the highway and everything just rolled right by nothing but stars in sight. I told you I would come back for you I bet you thought I forgot You found me under the ferris wheel at our secret meeting spot We live so far away from the ocean the city is noisy and cold we've got baby's to name and if it's all the same I would really like to raise her on the road... But if anything ever happened I mean, like, if something really went down I would want to be lyin' next to you on a blanket on the ground with the creatures all around us at our heads and at our feet listen to the rain fall down the wind talkin' through the trees the wind talkin' through the trees...

Dear Janie, 04:14
Dear Janie, you died suddenly they all said you were crazy that's how your legend goes you see I thought you were brilliant i thought you were lovely although I never knew you and you never knew me One day you're gonna walk gonna walk right through me one day you're gonna talk gonna talk right to me One day you'r gonna walk gonna walk right through me One day you're gonna talk gonna talk right to me you are a shadow you are a ghost you'll live forever up on Canary Road I will miss you the most... Dear Janie, heard you had two babies everyone in this town says they're perfect little ladies One is called Vivian called the other one "Birdy" they're your spittin' images so tall and so pretty Oh, and Janie, I thought I saw you driving I guess you would have been flying on your Triumph made of gold just like that painting I'd been waiting and I've been savin' up till I heard that it was sold It sold for $350 that's a little out of my league but if i didn't know better i would have thought you painted it for me One day you're gonna walk... Dear Janie, you died suddenly they all said you were crazy that's how your legend goes you see I thought you were brilliant i thought you were lovely although i never knew you and you never knew me... One day you're gonna walk gonna walk right through me one day you're gonna talk gonna talk right to me One day you'r gonna walk gonna walk right through me One day you're gonna talk gonna talk right to me you are a shadow you are a ghost you'll live forever up on Canary Road I will miss you the most...

Rubberband 02:50
She's got a rubber-band around her heart to keep from falling apart she takes it all so hard tries to fix it she doesn't know where to start She's got a new tattoo it marks the years that just keep passing it's black and shady just like her fears she just keeps stashing away How do you keep from falling asleep into an endless night when do you know it's gonna be alright... she's got a million songs they just need writing fancy words like silhouettes in the sun they just keep hiding She's got a million friends they just keep leaving but she'll keep the photographs beside her bed to bring her sweet dreams When do you stop believing that things will turn out how you planned when do you realize that everything must come to an end...

Peter Pan 03:28
She said "You look like Peter Pan today" leaning out the window how the leaves seemed to return our gaze She thought she could fly I was sure that we would die this way Sitting in the park with a radio and your oils making lists of things we'd accomplish someday listening to This Mortal Coil she was hiding in the bottom bunk just sketching washed in red, red, red held ourselves up for days and days and days and days white halo's tingling our heads... I think I'll pain my shoes you'll paint portraits of sleeping girl blues just two little girls in the big bad world nobody knows if we win or if we lose our minds, our voices, our chances, our choices our minds, our voices, our chances, our choices our minds, our voices, our chances, our choices our minds, our voices, our chances, our choices... Can we have a moment on the balcony? watch them scatter in the first rain of the year above the fountain where we baptized the details of our demise a good laugh a good cry and all those little white lies all those little white lies all those little white lies...

You would not believe me if I could just tell you the truth but all of this stuff just keeps lying like the rock stuck at the bottom of my boot My heart is a black dog sleepin' under your truck she's helpless defenseless knows that true love is luck my heart is a black dog sleepin' under your truck she's tied to the bumper tangled up in everything that I love All of this change just keeps piling up wish that I could walk in sunshine But now I can't hit all of them HIGH notes I can't breathe for swallowing time My heart is a black dog just call out her name she'll come when you call her standing out n the rain My heart is a black dog sleepin' under your truck she's tied to the bumper tangled up in everything that I love Dreamin' dog dreams of little bunny catching up with the morning dove her leash is tied to the hitch of your bumper tangled up in everything that I love You would not believe me If I could just tell you the truth But all of this stuff just keeps LYING like the rock stuck at the bottom of my boot...

Kitchen 04:48
I step out of the light into a night that never ends I try to navigate my way these days I guess that just depends upon what mood I'm in or how much money I can spend I spend a lot of time just watching people rush dragging their kids to catch the bus they're out the window of my car they're in slow motion black and grey, like movie stars Nothing happens here summer's been on it's way for years I pace in circles around the kitchen and I swear, It's getting colder out there... I wait for someone to stop by just to say "HI" I smell a stranger in the air, go to the door but no one's there Maybe I just smelled a rat the cat killed and left outside to show he cares Because nothing happens here... Maybe I'll sit and watch the train hear it huuummmmmmm... then again maybe I'll step inside and ride here I come I'll take the Red Line till I end up in the lake and then I'll swim to Michigan maybe a fisherman will catch me on his line and then he'll throw me back again Because nothing happens here summer's been on it's way for years I pace in circles around the kitchen and I swear it's getting colder out there it's getting colder out there it's getting colder out there...

Witches 03:34
She drove off the road just changing the station she walked away to leave the damage for another day the only trouble now is seeping through her pores there must be more to life than this there must be a better way and through the windows of the bus history stares right back at us nothing left now to do but pray to the Goddess of Forgiveness to the witches who can heal us to the memory of how close you came that day... She looks inside to find a little boy who stole her bike and rides it right past her door he is her truth and he is her joy he knows her secrets but he'll never tell not this little boy and through the windows of the bus he is staring right back at us nothing left now to do but pray to The Goddess Of Forgiveness to the witches who can heal us to the memory of how close you came that day... So she came home today to rearrange the stuff that make her crazy, stuff that makes her strange she'll sort it out and then she'll write it down her poetry is her therapy to bring her back around and through the window of the bus history is staring right back at us nothing left now to do but pray to The Goddess Of Forgiveness to the witches who can heal us to the memory of those lost along the way...
9.
Shiner 04:54
Just a glance over the shoulder just a walk down the stairs just a picture of your brother just a broken lonely pair just a green light turning red just a stain to prove you bled just a sketch, black ink on white just a shiner to call the fight... we rarely verbalise our greatest desires like what would you take with you when your house catches fire? how many times have you said goodbye and where would you go if you could fly?... Just a lover gone away just a lonesome song to play just some ashes blowing out of a tray seems like there's nothing I can say Just a memory passing by just the smell could make you cry just a girl in a city looking out at what used to be... How many turns did it take to get you where you are? do you believe in wishing on the first star? what would you remember most if you lost your sight? How firm will you stand when they take away your rights? What color would you pick if you had to pick just one? What do you want to leave behind when all is said and done?... Just a voice on the radio just a lullaby for baby-o just some answers blowing in the wind just a long distance call from a long lost friend...

No Gamble 04:02
Of all the people I have seen you are etched into my memory a trampoline a painted wall and Halloween a vacation in the sun a G&T a whisky run all the Raiders on the line all the healers space and time Two lives two lands come together now join hands Two tribes two clans come together now join hands There is a boat in the driveway go ahead now, sail away a stray cat a few stray friends you tie together the lose ends... Two lives two lands come together now join hands Two tribes two clans come together now join hands There is no gamble here my friends you pulled the lever, three 7's... Of all the people I have known I stay with you it feels like home...
